Georgia: GSP trooper injured after I-20 chase

Georgia State Patrol tells FOX 5 a trooper was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after a suspect chase along I-20. Troopers became involved in the pursuit on I-20 eastbound at the Carroll-Douglas counties line with a man driving a flat bed trailer. The pursuit ended when the driver crashed at Thornton Road. He was taken into custody without incident. During the pursuit, the GSP patrol car was struck in the rear by the suspect's vehicle around mile marker 33.

After being struck, the patrol car rotated and struck the rear of a Douglasville PD unit that was parked on the shoulder of the roadway. The Douglasville officer was not injured.

SGT Osby is now at Grady Memorial Hospital. FOX 5 will continue to provide updates on the trooper's condition.
